The Scorpio New Moon points to deep magic and radical transformation.
There’s a whole symphony resonating in the sky with this rich & fertile energy, but you must be willing to descend into the underworld to unearth and burn away all of the old mental stories & thought patterns that have been disempowering you for so long (maybe even before this lifetime).
It’s deep alchemical work, but if you’re willing to make radical changes to liberate your most weird, authentic, magical, totally unique self, you’ll be radiating prosperity.

Back in May, something in your life came to a place of ripeness or fructification – the height of its expression. Some place in your life, where there had perhaps been difficulty or undercurrents of power dynamics, seemed like maybe everything was on the mend…
In Chinese Medicine, when a patient is approaching the end of life, there is often what’s called “the separation of Yang and Yin.” This is when there is a final flare of life & vitality before the body surrenders to the end. Many times, families can be confused when, after battling with ailing health, their loved one seems to be regaining strength, only to then pass suddenly. It’s like the body gives one last huzzah! before slipping to the other side.
This is what was happening back in May.
Since then, there’s been a slow, yet steady decline in a particular area of your life. Maybe it’s a relationship, a job, a living situation (if you’re honest, you know what it is). It’s a place where you’ve been playing small, and hiding your power in order to keep that relationship, job, living situation, etc.
But the fact is, it’s starting to putrify.
ASPECTS TO THE Scorpio NEW MOON
The New Moon occurs at 28° Scorpio and will be engaged in the following aspects:
- Conjunct (exactly aligned with) Mercury Retrograde at 28° Scorpio and Lilith at 26° Scorpio.
- Opposed (challenged) by Uranus Retrograde at 29° Taurus.
- Trined (supported) by Jupiter at 25° Cancer.
- Trined (supported) by Neptune Retrograde at 28° Pisces and Saturn Retrograde at 25° Pisces.
As you can see from the image above, the planets involved in the celestial conversation of this New Moon are forming some fascinating geometry in the sky called a Kite.
With a Kite formation, we have a Grand Trine + 2 sextiles and an opposition. There’s a lot of positive energy in this formation, but just like with a real kite, there’s also some necessary tension. The opposition in the chart is a point of contention (in this case, it’s Uranus opposing the Sun, Moon, Mercury, and Lilith) – but this is the vertical rod in the kite that actually creates the tension needed so the kite can resist the wind – and FLY!
The Sun, Moon, Mercury Retrograde, and Lilith are all in Scorpio. Scorpio is the Underworld, the deepest, most unconscious aspect of our psyches. This is where old wounds, traumas, and fears lurk in the shadows.
In ancient mythology, Mercury (Hermes, Thoth) was the Guide of Souls, and the Messenger of the Gods. He was one of the only beings who could descend into the Underworld and return. With this New Moon, Mercury Retrograde is retracing his steps, going back into your unconscious. There, he finds Lilith, the powerful, dark feminine who was kicked out of The Garden for standing in her power.
Across the sky, we have Uranus, The Awakener, rebel, revolutionary, and Great Liberator. In order to be able to actually fly the Kite of this New Moon, you’ve got to get weird. Uranus can bring unexpected changes, which can sometimes feel ike the rug suddenly got ripped out from under your feet – but in the end, all he really wants for you is to feel more free.
The 14th Gate is called Possession in Great Measure. In the traditional I Ching, there is a concept of “The Wagon” (which carries all of our prosperity). In the shadow (or fear state) of this Gate, we ignore the body’s wisdom and use our energy to do something that doesn’t really align with us. In this way, by shaming or rejecting the body’s guidance, we compromise our integrity and start leaking energy. It doesn’t seem like a big deal at first, but over time, our integrity starts to corrode, and ultimately, the body begins to suffer. This is where Human Design is such a gift, because it teaches us how to recenter our decision making from the mind back to the innate wisdom of the body.
When the body leads, the spirit soars! But choosing to follow your body also means choosing NOT to follow what is socially or collectively expected, polite, or professional. If you really want to be free, you have to unhook yourself from all the projections & expectations of any authority outside of your own Inner Authority (Sacral, Emotional, Splenic, etc.). This is where we surrender completely to the body’s Competence to guide us through life – even if our mind is wailing and dragging its fingernails down the chalkboard.
