On May 24th, Saturn enters Aries, ushering us into a whole new 3 year initiation where we are tasked with taking responsibility for our actions, and moving forward with determination & perseverance in the direction of our dreams.  You may not see the results you want right away, but the time you put in, and aligned actions you take now, can bring you long term success.

Saturn is known as the “Taskmaster” of the Zodiac, and wherever we have Saturn transiting through our Birth Charts (what house Saturn is currently moving through in your chart), we are tasked with putting in the time, effort, energy, and hard work to take responsibility for that particular area of our lives. (Example: If Saturn is transiting through Aries and you have Aries in your 4th house which is ruled by Cancer, you will likely have to be diligent in taking responsibility for your family, family home, spending time with your parents, taking care of establishing a secure financial foundation for yourself/and or your family, caretaking your parents or family members or family land, investing time and energy into your home, studying your ancestry, or relocating back to your hometown, or the like).

If I had to pick one word to describe Saturn, it would be AUTHORITY.  While Saturn’s lessons can be difficult and challenging in the beginning, he really does have your best interest in mind – and ultimately Saturn is strengthening you so that you will stop outsourcing your authority to someone else (parents, teachers, bosses, friends you want to like you, the government, chatGPT, etc), and ultimately by moving slowly & steadily through the pressure that Saturn puts on you – YOU become the Authority in your life. (This is also why I love Human Design’s emphasis on each person learning how to navigate their life and make decisions as themselves, according to their own unique Authority – Sacral, Emotional, Splenic, etc.  If you’d like to learn more about the different Authorites, I wrote this article about them here).

As Saturn moves (very slowly) through your chart (it takes him about 3 years to move through each Sign), it’s like all of the different houses in your Birth Chart are different rooms in the Inner Temple of your Psyche.  So as Saturn is moving through each of these rooms/houses, he’s lumbering across the floor and putting his full weight (Saturn’s element is Lead after all) on each one of the degrees of the Sign he’s moving through.  Now, if any one of these floorboards have been made up of anyone else’s energy (you made a decision about how to build things in your life based on what someone else was doing or might think about what you were doing), Saturn’s weight will CRUSH this floorboard!  Then you’ll have the arduous task of having to go out into the woods, cut down a new tree, cut the tree into planks, get it back to your Temple, sand it, stain it, and finally use a hammer and nails to fully replace that floorboard – so now it’s made up of YOUR own energy – not anyone else’s.

These lessons can be even more difficult if you have planets in the houses/areas where Saturn is moving through your chart.  So, while I can give you a summary or an idea of what Saturn in Aries might feel like for us as a collective, I feel it’s so important to take some time (Saturn medicine) to look back on your past (Saturn) and see what your own experiences with Saturn have been.

Previous Saturn Transits:
  • Saturn in Capricorn – December 2017-March 2020
  • Saturn in Aquarius – March 2020-March 2023
  • Saturn in Pisces – March 2023-May 2025

What were you put to task with taking responsibility for during these particular time periods?  Where did you have to put in extra time, effort, energy, and hard work to manage things in your life during these times?  What challenges did you face?  What felt difficult at the beginning, but ultimately you found your inner strength and soverignty by the end?

With Saturn moving through Aries, in your personal life, you are being tasked to take responsibility for a particular area of your life (similar to how you did for when Saturn was in Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces).

Aries is the first Sign of the Zodiac, and where Libra is concerned with we, Aries is concerned with me. Aries initiates us into new beginnings, giving us the passion, drive & motivation to push through distraction, laziness, and indifference – just like the first flowers of springtime pierce the frozen soil at the first thaw, helping to make the way easier for the more tender flowers of springtime.

Aries gives us the passion & motivation to become the spiritual warriors in our lives, and to have the courage to stand up for ourselves as Individuals.

Ruled by Mars, Aries in its quintessence is all about ENERGY.  Aries is represented by the Ram, and is the first sign of the Zodiac and the Cardinal Fire sign. Aries is the spiritual warrior, the hero, the leader, general, adventurer, and athlete.
In its healed/integrated state, Aries gives us the energy to pursue our passions and the motivation, drive, and determination to take inspired action in the direction of our goals. He is outgoing, independent, focused, enterprising, energetic, bold, courageous, and fearless.
In its unhealed state Aries is anger, rage, violence, intolerance, abusive, selfish, childish, competitive, rash, reckless, and pushy.  These are some of the energies we can see if we expect Saturn in Aries to give us instant results.

Remember: Slow and steady wins the race.

      • Saturn Retrograde reenters Pisces on September 1st, 2025
      • Saturn Stations Direct on November 28th, 2025 at 25° Pisces

Saturn is said to be in its “fall” in Aries – because Aries is fiery, it wants to rush out and take action NOW.  But Saturn is Father Time, and pulls the reins on the Ram and says, “Now, now, we need to take the time to plan our actions, we need to make sure to research all the possible outcomes and be diligent in managing our resources in this war, so that we can ultimately build a strong and secure foundation, with the correct systems & structures in place, so that ultimately we can create long term success.” And Aries is like “F-you, I just want to go DO the thing, anything!!”

So you can see how these energies are seemingly opposite…

However, I like to think of Saturn in Aries as a similar energy to Mars in Capricorn (where Mars is actually exalted).  In this energy, the fiery, passionate energy of fire (Mars/Aries) is tempered by the grounded energy of earth (Saturn/Capricorn), and while we may not be able to sprint forward on the things we want to take action on, we are also not like a young boy with a lover for the first time, who comes out of the gate a little too hot (if you catch my drift…).  With the combined energies of Saturn & Aries, when we understand that we might not experience instant gratification, but knowing that what we do put our energy and passion into will have the stamina to endure… to me that’s worth the trade off for instant gratification.  But then again I have Mars in Capricorn, and have always been a distance swimmer instead of a sprinter. 🙂

    Aries says “I am”

What is it that makes you unique and different as an individual?  It’s hidden in plain sight in your Human Design Bodygraph.  Over the next 2 years, while Saturn is in Aries, we are quickly approaching 2027 and the shift in the background frequency.

If following your Strategy and navigating your life according to your unique Authority doesn’t feel like second nature, Saturn in Aries will put the pressure on over the next 3 years and life will become very difficult, hard & challenging unless YOU are the Authority in your life.

No more outsourcing your authority to someone/something else.  Unless you can make decisions in your life as yourself, Saturn will be the hammer, pounding your sword in the fire until you are finally strong enough to standup for yourself.

In summary, Saturn in Pisces wanted you to take responsibility for your dreams.  Now Saturn in Aries wants you to take responsibility for your actions, to become the passionate Spiritual Warrior to stand up for yourself and your Individuality, and put in the time & effort become the Authority of your life – to build the systems & structures that will help the fires of your passion for life to continue to burn and endure for the long-term.

Saturn in Aries wants you to become the defender and protector of your Individuality.
