This New Moon in Sagittarius arrives like a warm and radiant sunrise, kissing our cheeks as we stand on the edge of the cliff, gazing out at a beautiful, expansive vista – after we’ve been on a long & harrowing journey, climbing the mountain through the dark forest. 2025 has been no joke. We have all earned this opportunity for joyfulness & ease, but it still requires some effort on our part.
We’ve known for a long time that Black Holes consume all light, and with this New Moon being so close to the Solstice (especially for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, where this is the darkest time of the year), you may feel like you are standing on the edge of an abyss.
I know, for myself, with this New Moon sitting right on top of my Ascendant, Mercury, and Sun – I am feeling myself like the caterpillar inside the chrysalis. I’m beyond the “mush phase,” but I’m not quite ready to emerge yet. I can sense my wings and new body shape, but right now, they are unfamiliar to me. What is this new reality I can feel vibrating inside of me? Can I really trust that when it comes time to fly, I will be able to soar?

But back to the Black Holes. With all of this darkness around us, we may doubt the return of the Light (of both the New Moon as it grows, and the light of the Sun after the Solstice). Things may even seem overwhelming and scary in this void. But remember this moon is in Sagittarius – the most hopeful & optimistic Sign of the Zodiac.
And do you know what they just discovered about Black Holes within the last 3 years?
Think of this New Moon as the Cosmic Womb of No-thing. A place of limitless potential and possibility. As they say, “it’s always darkest before the dawn,” and this Sagittarius New Moon is the epitome of that.
ASPECTS TO THE Sagittarius NEW MOON
The New Moon occurs at 28° Sagittarius and will be engaged in the following aspects:
- Conjunct (exactly aligned with) Venus at 24° Sagittarius and Mars at 3° Capricorn.
- This New Moon is also conjunct the Galactic Center (the center of the Supermassive Black Hole at the center of our Milky Way Galaxy).
- Squared (challenged) by Saturn at 25° Pisces and Neptune at 29° Pisces.
Sitting in between the Lovers (Venus & Mars), and exactly aligned with Juno (the wife of Zeus), relationships can be a huge focus for us at the time of this New Moon. New alliances are forming, while simultaneously, old relationships are dissolving.
The connections that are formed in this energy can be long-lasting, bringing a renewed sense of passion, drive & motivation to create beautiful dreams & ideal visions together.
On the other side, the squares from Saturn & Neptune indicate that in order to step forward into these new energies & aliances, those relationships in our lives where we’ve been feeling our wings clipped and constricted by judgements or negative projections need to be dissolved.
Whenever Saturn is involved, things can feel heavy, and even if you know that coming to a place of completion with this person is for the best, it can still require hard work & effort. Whatever happens, do your best to make sure that you are taking responsibility for your role in the hurt that was caused, honoring the other person’s feelings & experiences, and apologizing where needed. This does more than you know to liberate yourself from the entanglement that is natural in all relationships.
Also, be aware that with this square from Neptune, there can be wild projections, assumptions, and claims made from all of the distortions that a Neptune square naturally causes. This is one of the times that the “let them” practice comes in so handy.
Let people be wrong about you. Don’t overexplain. Simply stand firm in your boundaries with loving compassion.
The 10th Gate is the Gate of Self Love, and is where all of the six Roles/Profiles come from in Human Design (Investigator, Hermit, Martyr, Opportunist, Heretic, Role Model). In its quintessence, the 10th Gate is all about Authenticity.
The description says “The underlying code of behavior which ensures successful interaction despite circumstances.” In this way, as long as we are expressing ourselves authentically and deeply loving ourselves in this expression, we will be successful despite circumstances.
Here’s the thing – no one can tell you whether or not you are being authentic or not. The truth of our innermost selves is an ever-evolving, always transforming, leading edge within us. No one else is inside of you, so no one else has the most current data to be able to judge if you are being authentic or not.
Expressing authenticity is always a radical act of Self-Love. You have to be very brave to be able to allow the truest form of your innermost self to be seen – but this is one of those very special gifts in the cosmos that has mutually beneficial results.

- Where do you need to take responsibility for standing firm and honoring your boundaries? Where do you need to take responsibility for ending & completing things where your unique Inner Authority has not been honored & respected?
- Knowing that expressing your authenticity is both an act of self love and a permission slip to others, how/where can you find ways to spread your peacock tail feathers wide and give them a good shake for all of humanity? 🙂
