The karmic vacuum cleaner has arrived…
On August 12th, 2026, we have our first South Node Total Solar Eclipse in Leo in twenty years, & we won’t have another one for eighteen more after this cycle completes. The South Node of the Moon is what I call the karmic vacuum cleaner: a super low tide that pulls what is ready to leave all the way out to sea. Old stories, old patterns, old ways of showing up that have been quietly draining your energy, the South Node eclipse comes in & clears them at the root. This can feel like loss, like completion, like sudden change in a particular area of your life. Trust it. What is leaving is making space for what is coming.
Whatever this eclipse is clearing has been a long time coming. Whatever it is revealing has been waiting a long time to be seen.
This is our first eclipse in the Leo/Aquarius axis since the nodes officially shifted on July 26th, opening a new eclipse cycle that will run all the way through January 2028. We are just at the beginning of a very significant chapter.

Ruled by the Sun, Leo in its quintessence is all about Creativity.
Leo is connected to the archetypes of the actor & actress, the queen & king, the playful child, the artist, romantic love & the entrepreneurial spirit. It is the Sign that governs the sacred fire of our creative life force & our courage to let that fire be seen.
In its healed expression, Leo is loyal, playful, proud, confident, creative, generous, joyful, romantic, charismatic, courageous & noble.
In its unhealed expression, it can be arrogant, dramatic, narcissistic, childish, egotistical & self-conscious.
With a South Node eclipse, we are more likely to encounter the unhealed expressions of a Sign than the healed ones, because the South Node is here specifically to purge them. So if arrogance, drama, needing the audience’s approval, creating chaos to avoid bringing your true creative contribution forward, or performing in ways that don’t feel authentic come to the surface over the coming days, that is the eclipse doing its work. It is not for you to judge. It is for you to release.
A South Node eclipse works like a karmic vacuum cleaner in the house of your chart where 20° Leo falls. Think of it as a super low tide, pulling things out to sea that are ready to leave. This can feel like loss, like completion, like sudden change. Trust that what is leaving is making space for what is coming, because the Pisces North Node Lunar Eclipse arrives on August 27th, bringing a wave of spiritual amplification & new energy into the opposite house of your chart. Pisces is the Sign most deeply associated with sound healing, mysticism, and the dissolution of what separates us from the sacred. The second eclipse in this portal is already calling the medicine of sound forward.

For me personally, my astrologer has advised me to take it easy during this eclipse because it is falling close to my Moon & my North Node in Leo. I share this not to create alarm, but because I think it is important that we honor what the eclipse is asking of each of us individually. An eclipse often asks us to rest rather than push. Take your hands off the steering wheel for the month of August. The hands of fate are navigating.
The eclipse is not the time for setting intentions. The energies are much too volatile. Wait at least 3 days after if you really want to set intentions, or better yet, wait until the New Moon on September 10th. Remember, eclipses are fated events. Whatever leaves your life now is a necessary release. Whatever enters your life now may have a role to play in your destiny. During this time we sit back & become the gentle observers of the way the energy is moving in our lives.

Saturn Retrograde is calling you home to your own inner authority. I always say Saturn wants to put you on your throne. The sovereign monarch of your own queendom/ kingdom does not wait for permission to bring their creative contribution forward. They take responsibility for it. They do the inner work. They show up with devotion & discipline even when it is hard. Saturn Retrograde trining this eclipse is quietly asking: are you ready to take up the mantle of your creative expression? Not as a performance. As a sacred act of service to your own dharma & destiny.
This Solar Eclipse falls in Gate 4, the Gate of Formulization, sitting in the Ajna Center, the center of mental processing & the stories we tell ourselves about how life works.
The 4th Gene Key is called the Universal Panacea, & its shadow is Intolerance: the mind’s addiction to reasons, using distorted logic to justify emotional reactions, to compare, to divide experience into right & wrong, ready & not ready, worthy & unworthy. We can barely tolerate our own minds, let alone each other. Pay special attention to this shadow at this eclipse. Every story the mind has constructed to keep your creative light at a safe distance, every logical argument for why now is not the time, every old justification for staying small, the karmic vacuum cleaner is coming for all of it.
The gift is Understanding: not knowledge, but a felt knowing that floods the whole body the moment the mind finally exhausts itself trying to solve the unsolvable. When the mind is freed from having to resolve existence, it rises into its real genius, seeing all sides without needing to take one & using its gifts to create new systems that bring positive change into the world.
