ASPECTS TO THE LEo Full MOON
The Full Moon occurs at 13° Leo and will be engaged in the following aspects:
* You’re probably going to hear 2 versions of this story for this full moon online or from other Astrologers, and that will depend on how wide an orb “relevant degrees” they use in their readings. You’ll either hear that the Full Moon is being opposed by Venus, Mars, and maybe even Mercury & Pluto, all still in Aquarius (which, if it sounds intense, it is) – or you’ll hear that the Moon is unaspected or only opposed by the Asteroid Goddess Vesta. All of this is unique to each Astrologer, as there is no industry-wide consensus on how many degrees should be in an orb.
In my professional Astrological work, I use a 5° orb – 5° on either side of the planet in question (in this case, the Moon at 13° Leo). I also base my readings on what I am personally observing (Personal View) as signs & symbols of the Astrological energies in the mythological dream unfolding in my own life.
With this in mind, from my perspective, the chart for this Full Moon is fairly straightforward (a welcome relief after all of the intensity of late), with the only aspect being an opposition from the Asteroid Goddess Vesta.
Vesta is the goddess of the Hearth and the Keeper of the Sacred Flame. She represents the Sacred Fire of our Divine Purpose and our devotion to our path of service in the world. With the Full Moon in Leo opposing Vesta, it can go one of 2 ways:
1) there can be some type of drama that comes to a climax that can feel like it’s getting in the way of your path of service (but is ultimately realigning you deeper onto your path), and there will be a clearing that needs to occur for realignment, or
2) your heart is set on fire with passionate creativity that you use to feed the sacred fire of your Divine Purpose & path of service and overcome obstacles.
The 33rd Gate is located in the Throat Center and in Human Design, the deeper description of this gate says “Active withdrawal and the transformation of a weak position into a strength.” This Gate/Gene Key is unique in that it is one of the 3 Stop Codons in our Genetic Code. It represents a sacred pause so we can integrate our experiences & digest the lessons, so we can move forward with awareness.
All of the voices of the throat have different phrases, and the phrase of the 33rd Gate says “I remember.”
In the Gene Keys, all of the Shadows are based in the lower frequency of fear. The Forgetting of the 33rd Shadow is forgetting that this is all a dream, and that we have creative agency as spiritual beings having a human experience. The dilemma of this Gene Key is Attention, and it’s part of the Codon Ring of Trials. When we’re not paying attention to the mythological story that life is always telling to us & through us, we miss the little clues, the winks from the Universe, the signs when our intuition tries to guide us – and our lives can feel like endless trials with no pause for reflection.
Every challenge in our lives is the Divine trying to get us to pay attention and remember who we are (Divine Creators), and to remember that we came here on purpose with gifts to share and wisdom to contribute to our shared evolutionary dream as consciousness in form.
At the Gift level, Mindfulness is when we take intentional moments of retreat & actively withdraw so that we have the space to integrate our experiences and remember that we are engaged in a cosmic conversation with awareness & intention.
When we take this time to pause & retreat, we can receive powerful revelations – moments when our awareness expands and the deeper meaning of the secrets & mysteries of our lives are revealed. In the 33rd Siddhi, it speaks of the genetic memory of “The Flood” which holds many codes from Atlantis & Lemuria, so you may notice that in your reflections you may receive some memories of your time there and the gifts you once held from that timeline that are wanting to be of service again.
If you feel like you’ve lost touch with the magic of your life, practicing simple rituals can be very beneficial for realignment. These rituals don’t have to be elaborate. The simple act of going to the gym can go from a mundane task to a ritual offering to the planet Mars. Get creative!
Remember we are all Magicians!
Around the time of this Full Moon, you may notice yourself wanting to take a step back to journal, retreat, and reevaluate your trajectory. There is power in an active withdrawal.
We’ve all shed so much in the year of the Wood Snake. Take some time to step back and tune into what your journey has been over the past year, and what might still need to be released, so you can enter the Lunar New Year in an embodied way.

- How have you been paying attention to the mythological story that is woven through every day in your life? Are you noticing any of the energies feeling stuck or stagnant? How can you ritually clear this energy (this doesnt’ have to be fancy – taking clothes for donation can be a ritual) – get creative!
