Welcome to the Leo Full Moon. It’s dramatic, rambunctious, wildly creative, full of unexpected changes that keep us on our toes (think jazz hands – even if these changes feel challenging) – while also being artistic & romantic, including an invitation for a generous helping of self-care and self-love.

Ruled by the Sun, Leo in its quintessence, is all about Creativity.

Leo energy is connected to the archetypes of the actor/actress, queen/king, playful child, artist, romantic love, and the entrepreneurial journey.

In it’s healed expression it is loyal, playful, proud, confident, creative, generous, joyful, romantic, charismatic, courageous, and noble.

In its unhealed expression it can be arrogant, dramatic, narcissistic, childish, egotistical, and self-conscious.

The Full Moon occurs on February 12th at 3:53am HST (5:53am PST) at 24° Leo.

Full Moons always bring some kind of tension, often illuminating things that have been hidden. They represent the end of a cycle that started back with the New Moon in Leo back in August 2024 – or maybe you even notice a correlation all the way back to the previous Leo Full Moon in January 2024. For me, that’s when I first started cutting my hair (a representation of Leo), and at this point I’ve cut off around 2 feet since then – and it feels so liberating!

Full Moons always bring us the energy of completion, celebration, and clearing.

This Full Moon has some extra tension to it that can feel almost like an arrow pulled taught in a bow – and the energy has a wild card feel to it. Expect the unexpected, and if you notice yourself feeling intolerant or reactive to the sudden changes that may occur, channel that energy into your creative expression – dance, play, make art, sing, write poetry or even a love letter to get the energy moving.

How can you allow the golden light of Creation shine through you – uninhibited, unrestrained, and unedited – in the full spectrum of its creative brilliance?

How can you make your entire life (even the messy, chaotic, embarrassing parts) into a work of ART?

ASPECTS TO THE LEO FULL MOON

The Full Moon occurs at 24° Leo and will be engaged in the following aspects:

Opposed (challenged by) Mercury at 26° Aquarius:
- Mercury has just completed its conjunction (exact alignment) with the Sun just days before, so our minds have a bit of a fresh start, but with Mercury in Aquarius our thinking can feel erratic, or we may receive shocking information that feels like the rug just got pulled out from under us. The thing to remember is that whenever Aquarius/Uranus (below) is involved, these sudden changes are always ultimately for our liberation.
Squared (challenged by) Uranus at 23° Taurus:
- Uranus is known as The Awakener, and he has been revolutionizing our values (Taurus) since 2018. What was important to us just a few years ago, seems to have lost its luster. With the square to the Full Moon, Uranus is provoking you to come clean about where/how you’ve been holding back your creative expression. It’s TIME to let your Magic out folks!
Trined (supported by) Chiron at 19° Aries:
- Chiron is most often known as the Wounded Healer, but he’s also the Master Teacher. With him supporting this full moon, we may find some deep inner child healing when we express ourselves creatively. Let your inhibitions go, dance, laugh, play, roll in the snow or grass or on the carpet in your living room, cut out pictures of things that inspire you and hang them next to your mirror, let your hair down and be fricking silly ferchrissakes!! Laughter is the best medicine.

With the unexpected changes that Uranus can bring during the days around this Full Moon, watch out for any places where you might go into reaction or intolerance – where your mind might become obsessed with figuring out the reason for the unexpected changes, or perhaps you notice yourself trying to use logic to justify things.

If you notice any of these things in yourself or others, take a deep breath and come back to your body. How can you resource these changes to get creative? When you tune into your creativity, your mind moves into the quantum realm of understanding, and we can become more compassionate with one another – even finding forgiveness for ourselves & others.
