This New Moon is here to help you rewire your mind so you can speak from your heart.
Before we get into the New Moon, I want to point out that right now, we are in the Dark Moon phase (the New Moon occurs tomorrow, June 14th at 7:52pm PDT). During this particular Dark Moon phase, you might be feeling all kinds of chaotic thoughts and old stories of lack/scarcity swirling around inside your mind. This New Moon is in conversation with Chiron, the Wounded Healer, and so you may be doing some deep healing with your shadows from the past before you really begin to feel the breath of fresh air & new beginnings that the New Moon will bring.
Until then, we’re in more of a purging/clearing phase. What old thoughts/stories/ways of thinking & communicating need to be changed or released so that you have space to receive the new ideas/inspiration, and new ways of thinking & communicating that this New Moon offers?
Dark Moon Ritual: Write down a list of all of the negative thoughts of fear, scarcity, doubt, and lack of self worth, etc. that have been spiraling inside your mind. Don’t let a single one escape. Write your list, then feel how much space that creates inside you. Then come back later to add more (there is often more once we make space). Then when you feel ready, before the New Moon, burn that paper and scatter the ashes in the wind.

New Moons are always a time of new beginnings, fresh starts & new intentions, and this one has a particularly alive & electric quality to it. Uranus entered Gemini back in April and this is our first moon where we really feel this shift. This Gemini New Moon carries a charge of sudden knowing, unexpected ideas & information that arrives like a flash of lightning rather than like a slow dawn. Be open to new ideas & radical new ways of thinking!
If your mind has been particularly busy lately, if you have been noticing an uptick in the speed & volume of information, conversations, texts, emails & the general frenetic quality of life in Gemini season, your experience is validated by the stars. With Uranus in Gemini, the mental realm has been more activated, electric & alive than it has been in decades. This New Moon is an invitation to take all of that energy & direct it with intention. To ask not just what you are thinking, but how you are thinking.

Gemini is connected to the archetypes of the messenger, the magician, the storyteller: Hermes & Thoth & every figure who has ever stood at the crossroads between worlds & said, I know the way. Mercury is the ruler of this New Moon & as the Magician in the Tarot, he governs the extraordinary power of the mind to shape reality… our thoughts, our words, our stories about ourselves & the world we are creating.
Gemini governs communication, how we think, how we learn, how we speak & how we move through the world. It is the Sign of the merchant, the reporter, the teacher & the writer. It rules technology, short bursts of information, text messages, and Instagram posts, etc.
In its healed expression, Gemini is intelligent, witty, clever, curious, adaptable, spontaneous & brilliantly alive in its thinking.
In its unhealed expression, it can be scattered, superficial, overwhelmed with information, overly talkative & distracted.
If you notice the unhealed expressions of Gemini arising in yourself or others around this New Moon, it is simply the Gemini part of you asking for some loving attention. Perhaps it is time to research something that has been calling your curiosity. Perhaps there is a conversation you have been avoiding, words of love that need to be spoken. A NOTE ON MERCURY’S SHADOW PHASE
Mercury is the ruler of Gemini, and he’s already in his pre-retrograde shadow at the time of this New Moon, meaning the intentions, ideas & fresh starts we seed today will go through a process of refinement in the coming weeks (I actually love this for us). Mercury stations retrograde on June 29th in Cancer, asking us to slow down, feel more deeply & revisit what we have been thinking & saying.
This is not a reason to hesitate. Plant your seeds now. Just know they may look quite different by the time they fully bloom.
When Mercury revisits these same degrees of this New Moon again, around July 21st through 26th, new information, unexpected clarity & possibly a plot twist or two may arrive related to the intentions we set today. Trust the process. The Magician always has a few more moves than you can see at once, and they always end up making things better than we ever could have imagined. Let the magic in.
ASPECTS TO THE GEMINI NEW MOON
The New Moon occurs at 24° Gemini and will be engaged in the following aspects:
- Sextile (supported) by Chiron at 29° Aries:
Chiron is the wounded healer & the master teacher, and at 29° Aries he is at his very last degree in this Sign before moving into Taurus on June 19th. This is one of the final times Chiron in Aries gets lit up as part of the cosmic conversation in this cycle, and he is bringing his full medicine to this New Moon.
Chiron in Aries has been with us since 2018, guiding a collective healing of the divine masculine within us all: our relationship to action, drive, motivation & the courage to stand up for our own desires & our own lives. The medicine of Chiron is not to dwell in the wound. It is to alchemize it. To take the challenge, the lesson, the initiation & transmute it into something that can be offered back to others as healing medicine. Take the lead & turn it into gold.
With Chiron supporting this New Moon, this new beginning isn’t superficial, it’s forged from the healing of some of your deepest & oldest thought patterns that have been based in an ancient & primal fear of survival. The new thoughts you are choosing moving forward, the new stories you are beginning to tell, are not being built from scratch. They are being built from the wisdom of everything you have been through.
Dig deep into the darkness that this New Moon offers. What are the stories that come from your past that you are ready to transmute? It’s time to write a new code inside your brain using the language of love instead of fear.
This New Moon falls in Gate 12: The Gate of Caution, also known as Standstill. In Human Design, Gate 12 is located in the Throat Center.
This is an individual gate within the Individual Circuit, which means it carries a deeply acoustic & mutative quality. How are you speaking about yourself, about others, about what is possible in your life? What is the tone underneath your words? Are you speaking from the depth of what you know, or are you speaking to fill space, to seek approval, to manage how others perceive you?
The 12th Gene Key is called A Pure Heart and it’s very much about our relationships. However, at the Shadow frequency, this is all about emotional caution, where we withhold love and keep others at arm’s length out of fear that somehow they could take away our freedom.
In the Shadow, we’re afraid that if we open fully, we might be hurt. We’re afraid that if we share too much too soon, someone might take something away from us, or reject or betray us in some way. This is the Shadow of Vanity, our thinking that we are somehow separate from others, and that another person might be able to hurt us if we love too much.
Where in your relationships, your work, your creative expression, are you crimping off the flood of love that wants to flow through you?

Where are you holding back out of fear? What stories are you telling yourself that say it is safer not to love fully?
Through this awareness, something remarkable happens. The emotions we feared would be overwhelming are not, in fact, overwhelming. And we begin to remember what it feels like to love without armor.
The Siddhi of Purity is what becomes possible when our voice truly carries no agenda. When we speak from the heart rather than the mind. When we speak from love rather than strategy, our words carry a quality that can touch something in others that they did not even know was waiting to be touched. This is the Magician at her highest frequency, the voice of the heart/the Universe/God speaking through us.
Around the time of this New Moon, it could be a beautiful practice to speak your intentions out loud so you can hear yourself speaking the life you are choosing into being (bonus points if you say them in the mirror or to another person).

May you finally heal & release whatever old wounds that have made it feel safer to hold love back rather than allow it to pour through you. May the words you speak over your life from this day forward be the spells of love & trust in the innate purity of your heart, that build the most beautiful reality you have ever dared to dream. You are the Magician. You always have been.
